MY THOUGHTS
If you're a lover of cozy mysteries then this should be on your TBR list. The setting is northern Michigan. As with the first book, this is a curious mystery. The author gave characters that were fun and entertaining, and each character was somehow mixed with the others. You also get a mystery that is fun to try to solve with the clues that are left as you turn the pages. Jenny Weston and Dora, her mother have started receiving late night visits. That makes you wonder who would be calling late at night. A rather loner poet, Emily Sutton is living pieces of poetry in Dora's Little Library. Now Dora wants to be friends with her. This starts Emily to come out into public more often. While Dora and Emily are making a friendship, some others are starting a book on Emily Dickinson. Then Zoe Zola, the author working on the book begins to think something strange is going on at Emily's house. That's when Jenny and Zoe discover something awful. As the investigation continues, things only get more confused and complicated. While all this is going on, Jenny is having romantic problems. I am not ordinarily a fan of cozy mysteries but this one kept my interest. Perhaps since it was based somewhat on Emily Dickinson life and her poetry. The author does give the reader clues that help you try to solve this fascinating mystery. The setting she chose, especially the swamp house, brought a real interest to me about the book. Perfect creepy setting for a seclusive poet and the mystery that encircles her.
So if you like cozies or just mysteries, grab a copy and put your investigative skills to work. You get the interesting characters, a good pace, clues for solving, perfect setting and a little romance tucked in. What more could you want?
I received a copy of this book from the author and Night Owl Reviews and voluntarily decided to review it.
I would give this book 4 STARS.
