Andrea Carter is turning 16 and life is great. So much is going on. She's about to graduate, there's a new baby in her older brother's life and Melinda, her sister is getting married. Since she will be out of school she will have lots of time to work on the ranch full time and start training her palomino horse, Taffy's colt. Andy loves the ranch and the horses. But does there come a time when it all be comes too much? Her cousin, Daniel who has been living in New York City and is not in the mood for learning about ranch life. Andi has been put in charge of teaching Daniel about the ranch. There is a secret about Daniel that he has forced Andi to keep to herself. He just up and walks away, tears everything up he can get his hands on and then runs away like a child, to San Francisco. The family doesn't know what to do with him. Andi can remain silent no longer when his secret threatens every one's lives.Should Andi be afraid of Daniel? Andi begins to build a wall around her to shield her hurting heart and hopefully find a way to heal. Can this wall be broken?Can the wall be knocked down? If you have read previous books of Ms. Marlow you will definitely want to add this historical fiction to the collection. She sends a message through her books. Can you figure out what that powerful lesson is.? Ms. Marlow combines the sweetness of Andi with some drama and of course, there has to be romance. Pre-teen and teenage girls will love these stories. They are good clean books.
