Pearl Blackthorn is a novelist and investigative reporter for Darkside
paranormal magazine. Armed with her digital recorder and accompanied by
her friend and photographer Harry Raymond, Pearl is sent by her editor
J.J Benson - affectionately known as Benny - to the four corners of
Great Britain, (and sometimes further), to investigate stories of
spirits and specters, demons, prophecy and possession. The problem is,
Pearl doesn’t believe in the supernatural; her creative imagination is
tempered by a strong skepticism. She is immovable on her stand that
there is always a simple, rational explanation behind every report of
paranormal activity. But Pearl soon realizes that the intricacies of
paranormal events are often far from simple and not always rational.
This is the first book in the Pearl Blackthorn series. This edited
edition contains Character Confidentials previously unpublished.

Pearl Blackthorn doesn't believe in the paranormal but being a novelist and investigative reporter for Darkside paranormal magazine, she spends a lot of time going all over the world investigating stories of another world. She always has her recorder and her friend, Harry Raymond, who is also her photographer goes with her. Harry is a believer. The two of them offer a view from both sides. This investigative pair look into all kinds of paranormal, demons, possession, spirits, ghosts and prophecy.
The author wrote a book full of short stories full of interesting characters. She wove a web that keeps the reader's attention. You won't want to put the book down. The main character, Pearl Blackthorne is an unique character and realistic. Any time a character is realistic the book is more interesting because the reader can relate. I'd like to get to know Pearl and Harry better. Maybe have a romance going on there? Great book to curl up on a stormy evening with.
