(from Amazon)
A thoroughly English girl raised in Hong Kong, Julie Jane Parham has spent her entire life walking the line between two worlds. When her closest friend, Su Mi, becomes the victim of an arranged marriage gone horribly wrong, Julie travels to San Francisco in order to buy back her freedom and soon finds herself in over her head.

On a rescue mission of his own, Will Keegan uses his saloon, The Silken Angel, as a front to whisk Chinese prostitutes away from the city’s ruthless brothel owners to a life of freedom, risking his own hide in the process.

Sparring with a spirited British lady is the last thing Will Keegan needs, but he isn’t about to let lovely Julie throw herself headfirst into danger. And as the urge to protect her turns into something more, Will knows he must get Julie to trust him, or chance losing her forever…

REVIEW
Will Keegan was so in love with his best friend James's first wife.   Devastation happened.  She died.  He seems to be taking the same road with Jame's second wife.  He leaves as vice president of the firm that he ran with James. He then moves to San Francisco.  He decides to set up the Silken Angel Saloon.  This was to be a front for the true purpose of him being in the city.
Rescuing girls who are being sold into prostitution.
Will is prepared for anything that might happen.  A nosy, red haired woman named Julie Jan Parham (aka Julie) isn't quite prepared for.
Will finds Julie to be blunt, brazen and totally loyal to her cause refreshing even those he was used to the meek, docile Chinese women.  He just isn't quite sure how to handle Julie.
He's worried about the questions she is going around asking.  He's afraid she may end up dead.
Julie is raised as a lady, with all the luxuries money could afford in Hong King. Jane's friend, Su Mi was supposed to be married to an honorable man when they arrived in California. Instead Su Mi was sold into prostitution in San Francisco.  Without thinking, Julie starts on a journey to to rescue her friend from the the life she's been forced into. She didn't count on having a man who could help her, or ruin her.

Raised as a lady, with all the refinements and luxuries money could afford in Hong Kong, Julie is every inch the lady. Believing that she was to be married to an honorable man when they arrived in California, Jane's friend, Su Mi was instead sold into prostitution in San Francisco. Without any hesitation, Julie embarks on a dangerous journey to rescue her friend from the cruel life she's been forced into. She just didn't count on meeting a man who could help her, or ruin her.
Julie Wanted a Man, Su Mi Wanted a Man.  Was Will the man for either of them.  Will Will continue his Silken Angel Saloon?  Will romance develop between Julie and Will?  The author wrote a good book with a plot that was a lesson.  These kind of practices still go on in this world, and this book brings it out to those who don't know this.

I received a complimentary copy of A WANTED MAN from the author Rebecca Hagan Lee and Manic Readers for my view of this book.  No other compensation took place.

I would give this book 4 STARS.
