WAITING GAME by J.L. Ficks & J.E. Dugue ( Thom Scott, llustrator)

WAITING GAME                       4.5 STARS
The Chronicles of Covent
Book 1
by J.L.Ficks & J.E. Dugue
Thom Scott (illustrator)

OVERVIEW:(FROM GOODREADS)
Shade has grown into the deadliest assassin the men of Doljinaar have ever known. Thirsting for a challenge, Shade accepts a job to slay an ultra powerful crimelord that could brand him an enemy of his own criminal underworld. A tale of pride and confidence, Shade chooses to take his mark head on. This time he waits for his enemy to come to him. How many waves of monstrous foes can Shade gamble before the sheer numbers prove too much? How long can one lone assassin last until he falls victim to his own deadly waiting game?

REVIEW:
THE WAITING GAME is the first in the series. It is a stand alone or can be read with the series. "The Shade Chronicles" are about Shade who is an assassin, the best there is, an Unseen gone rogue. He stays away from the forest. Shade is a dark elf and has prejudices. The character Shade has trained to use his killing abilities to the limit. He is bored because he is running out of challenges. Shade usually gets what he wants and that's where the action goes wild. Shade is quite interesting, he is fierce and a force to be reckoned with but he doesn't go out of his way to bully others.

Shade isn't out to make the world a better place or change things.

The authors, Ficks and Dugue keep you turning the pages. There is a website, Chronicles of Covent that has some great art and lots of info about characters and plots. The cover artist, Thom Scott. of the book has also done the artwork on the website. I would recommend this book to anyone especially ages 8 and up through adults. If you like fantasy realms with elves and some great illustrations in the book and on the website. Pick up the book and enter the world of Shade,

I would give this book 4.5 stars.

I was given the complimentary book by the authors for this unbiased review.
