SHE WAS BORN A GOOD GIRL
An All Girl's Boarding School Story
by
Garfield Whyte
MY THOUGHTS: The setting is Rosemount School, an all girls boarding school located in Jamaica. This was when girls were sent off to boarding schools to learn to become ladies and all that went with it. But there are always those who don't conform, are rebellious and with young girls hormones at their peak, things are bound to happen that aren't always good. When limits are set and rules are in place, will the girls conform? The principal of this all girl's school is strict, not inclined to give in to any rebellion at all. These girls are quite a handful. Especially five girls in particular. Zoe, Nola, Myra, Jody and Anona. Everyone is different, personality wise and their beliefs, wants and needs. But each and everyone of them have one goal in common, graduating. But will they or maybe even Can they? One girl has been accepted, which some would do to get into, the prestigious girl's school, She doesn't want to go. She wants to go to a coed school where there are boys, boys, boys. One has no money and had an abusive childhood, Nola was privileged and had a nanny while growing up. Myra was one who had to fight and struggle to get into this school. Anona who was in line for a life of wealth and beauty. As with any school, when you start, it may be hard to make friends and find your place. Exciting, interesting, fast paced and thought provoking with characters that you can love and hate at the same time. So real, so true to life and so YESTERDAY, TODAY and probably TOMORROW. All about teen age girls, their issues, their bodies, the sex they want to experiment with, defiance, rebellion and oh so much more. The world of teen age girls. There is nothing like it.
I certainly hope the author, Mr. Whyte will possibly give us a second book about the girls at Rosemount School. A wonderful book. KEEP WRITING!
I received a copy of this book from the author and was under no obligation to review it. I would give this book 5 STARS.
