"Tender and gentle, with two delightful characters who truly belong together. A lovely read."  —RaeAnne Thayne Make-Believe Beau  Fannie Erb isn't looking for a husband—especially if she has to leave her beloved horses to go find one. What she needs is a way to assure her parents she's not hopeless when it comes to love. Family friend Noah Bowman might just be her solution. A fake relationship will free them both from unwanted matchmaking plans. How could Fannie predict that pretending to date the handsome, teasing boy next door would awaken genuine emotions? By summer's end they'll be free to part, but Fannie's growing feelings are transforming her neighbor into the only man who might ever rein in her adventurous heart.  (from Night Owl Reviews)

MY THOUGHTS
Amish books are clean and have a lesson behind them. This book is sweet and lovely with two main characters that you just know from the start that they are meant for each other.  It wasn't so serious, just a fun read that will let you get away from the everyday stress and unwind.  You may even find yourself smiling.   The two main characters are Fannie and Noah who in all fun through little bits and pieces back and forth between themselves.  They're like two little kids back in school cutting up with each other and it hasn't ended as they've gotten older.    They both have some baggage and they both have reasons for pretending they are courting each other. Fannie wants to prove to her parents she isn't lost to a love life and family but she doesn't want to give up her love, that is her horses.  Noah wants to play ball and he's under the same stress to find a love.  So together they pretend a courtship to satisfy their families.  They don't know it, but God has another plan for them.   What might that be?
They both have very different goals and their courtship, of sorts, will bring about a huge surprise in the end. Something they would never have expected.   The author wrote a fun, smile provoking, steady flowing read.   The reader is given characters that you can't help but love and true, there are little lies, if there is such a thing as little lies, but it is a beginning to the end and the end is so very promising and special.  The author has you wanting throughout the read for the two characters to have a "real romance".  Will they?  Will the pretend courtship become a real courtship?   A sweet read that is lots of fun laced with lots of humor.  Emotions will come to the surface, not only for the characters but for the reader.

I received a copy of this book from Night Owl Reviews and the author and voluntarily decided to review it.

I would give this book 5 STARS.
