Paul Trembling got into the habit of making up stories before he could
read or write. Since then, he’s followed a diverse career path, being at
various times a seaman, a missionary, a janitor, and a crime scene
investigator―but he’s never broken the story-making habit, and has no
plans to try.
MY THOUGHTS
A local poet's past is about to emerge, a dark past. Two live's are about to change and they will never be the same again. A car accident begins it all. A woman, Laney Grey, a poet steps in front of Rob's van. It seems like she intentionally walked in front of the van. Unfortunately, she dies immediately. Who was this woman and why did she walk in front of Rob's van? When the police were called to the scene, they declared it an accident and Rob was cleared of any wrong doing. But Rob now has to deal with killing this woman. He didn't even know her. How is he going to get past this? He feels guilty even though it wasn't his fault. As time goes by, Rob knows he must find out about this woman. Who was she and what was so bad in her life that she wanted to die? Was it just fate that she stepped in front of his van instead of someone else's vehicle?
How will he find out about her?
Her poetry, perhaps it will give him insight about this woman, the woman he killed. But as he does, he finds that she has a dark past and there are mysteries to solve. As always, when dark secrets come to light, someone will pay, and pay dearly. Rob has to know the truth about Laney. But as I said, there's always a price to pay. Will Rob pay the price for the truth?
A well written mystery that delves into secrets of the past. It gives you insight into two minds, Laney's and Rob's. As you turn the pages you feel like Rob. You must know what Laney is all about and what the truth is. But you wonder, what sort of price will be paid?
