NO LUCK AT ALL

NO LUCK AT ALL
Weston Family Series
Book Three
by
Julie Lence

The youngest son of a wealthy rancher, Creel Weston spent his childhood breaking wild mustangs and dreaming of becoming a doctor. Being blackmailed into marrying a spoiled socialite wasn't part of his plans, especially when he loved her. He'd take Racine back home with him and find a comfortable ground with her. Trouble was, she wasn't as spoiled as he'd been led to believe, and harbored scars that would take more than his doctoring skills to heal.

Boston socialite Racine Somerfield had an unbearable childhood. Mama despised her, and although he said he loved her, Papa couldn't wait to get rid of her. Marrying Creel and accompanying him back to his home in Colorado Territory, Racine hoped to find some semblance of peace and happiness at Wooded Acres, and in Creel's arms. She didn't expect to add another wound to those she already carried.

AUTHOR
Julie writes Western Historical Romance. Her stories bring to life the code of ethics cowboys lived by and the dangers outlaws defied living by their guns. Often outspoken and temperamental, with their own sense of humor, Julie’s heroes share a common trait―the willingness to surrender his heart to the right woman and earn her love for eternity.

Julie was born and raised in upstate New York. She married her high school sweetheart and accompanied him on his twenty-year career with the United States Air Force. Currently, she makes her home in the Pikes Peak region, where she is a stay-at-home mom enjoying a career writing western historical romance.

In the late 80's, a friend introduced Julie to the romance genre. She was instantly hooked, and credits Johanna Lindsey's addictive and endearing Malory family and Judith McNaught's flawless voice as inspirations to pen her own novels. Combining her fondness for horses, John Wayne's cowboy persona, and the television show, Dallas, she settled into writing western historical romance early in her career.

Julie self-publishes her work on Amazon. She also designs her own covers and blogs monthly at Cowboy Kisses blogspot. When not writing, she enjoys taking care of her family and home, exploring the Rocky Mountains and meeting fans of the romance genre.

MY THOUGHTS
Setting: Colorado Territory in 1874
This book can be read alone or in the series.  I like to read books in order in the series but that's just me.   This is the 3rd book about the Weston Family.   A well to do rancher's son, Creel Weston grew up with dreams of becoming a doctor while he broke mustangs on the ranch.  He ended up marrying Racine in Boston under some odd circumstances even though he was in love with her.  He took her home to the ranch and soon found out she was hurting, not something that Creel could doctor but deep hurt. Creel found out her childhood was far from perfect.  Her parents didn't want her. They just wanted to be free of her.  She hoped that going home with Creel would heal her hurts but is that going to happen?  Creel and Racine both have hurts that are deep and don't heal.  Will they both help each other to heal and go on with a blissful life?   Or will the deep hurts cause problems in their marriage.?
The author gives you characters that you can relate to.  The descriptions of the town, the ranch and the characters paints a picture in your mind exactly as though you are there.
Ms. Lence's books always keep your attention, make you feel attached to the characters and give vivid details of the scenes, the towns, the characters and the emotions that go with it all.
You can't go wrong if you love western historical romance books.   They take you back to the time when life was different and yet so similar to today.

I received a copy of this book from the author and voluntarily decided to review it.
