MY THOUGHTS
The author brings us a clean, good (A Proper Romance)book about the right of a woman to hold what is supposedly a man's job. This is a small town and it certainly doesn't need two sheriffs but Savage Wells may not be peaceful for long. So after Paisley Bell has been holding down the job for some time, she isn't likely to turn it over to a stranger, even though he is a well known lawman, Cade O'Brien.
Paisley doesn't just love her work, she needs the job to care for her sick father. This isn't your usual western. Two strong characters, a man and a woman going back and forth at each other is so real you can almost see them in the dirt street fussing at each other. It's entertaining. I like the way the romance slowly builds between Paisley and Cade and they aren't just thrown together like, Wham, Bam, Thank you Ma'am. It's tender and natural. The author makes the reader feel like they have front seats to this story and you don't want to take an intermission for fear of missing something. The author gives the reader everything, romance, suspense, lots of action, some thought rendering moments.Savage Wells may be a small town but who will survive and become the sheriff, Paisley or Cade.?
I was given a complimentary copy of this book from the author and Night Owl Reviews and I voluntarily decided to review it.
I would give this book 5 STARS.
