CAROLE P.ROMAN
Award winning author Carole P. Roman started writing as a dare from one of her sons and combines her teaching past with her love of exploration and interest in the world around us.  She has two highly successful series and is launching this new exciting series about civilizations throughout time. While she is still working in her family business, this has enabled her to share her sense of humor as well as love for history and culture with the audience she adores.  Roman lives on Long Island with her husband and near her children.

PAULA TABOR
Illustrator, Paula Tabor (www.paulapaint.com)  has won awards of her own in art shows from Florida to Ohio. She's been an illustrator, portraitist, caricaturist - even a balloon twister! She lives in the rural outskirts of Houston, Texas with a beloved and rather large, Lab-mix named Jasper.

MY REVIEW
I've gotten so I look forward to each and every new book of Ms. Roman's.   The books are entertaining, teaching, illustrations are colorful and go along with each story.
Roman ends her children’s book, If You Were Me and Lived In … the American West. This is a wonderful way for early elementary school children to learn about different countries and their ways of life.  You don't have to worry about your child reading any bad words since there are never any bad words in Ms. Roman's books.  Some of the words may be advanced but there is a section that helps with pronunciation and meaning.  This is a good way for parent and child to interact and help each other learn.Easy to read with good size print, black on white with colorful illustrations  to go with the story.
This book, Vol. 7, is about the Oregon Trail, 19th century. The reader gets to know what kind of life the people who traveled the trail  was like.
You get to travel in a  wagon across the trail  and what necessities were taken along,  How they built their homes and the food they ate. This is another great series to start placing on your child's book shelf.  Fun, educational and exciting.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author, Carole P Roman, in exchange for my unbiased and honest review.

I would give this book 5 STARS.
