Learn what kind of food you might eat in Ancient Greece, the clothes you wore in 15th century Renaissance Italy, what your name could be in Elizabethan England, and what Colonial American children did for fun. If You Were Me and Lived in...does for history what her other award-winning series did for culture. So get on-board this time-travel machine and discover the world through the eyes of a young person just like you.

MY  VIEW OF THE BOOK:
Once again Ms. Roman is giving readers, young and old a look into the past.  This time it is Colonial America.  This series has traveled to  Renaissance Italy, Elizabethan England and Ancient Greece.   This book like the others in the series is written and geared for young readers, but if you are interested in learning about countries and ways of the years past, then it doesn't matter what age you are.  You and the young reader will have fun and learn in the process. Readers will learn about the ways and customs such as occupations, the food they eat and the clothing they wear.  This book is illustrated by Sara Wright and has enjoyable, colorful pictures to go with the story.  Ms. Roman includes in the back some information and pictures of people who made a difference in the colonies of earlier times.  I always find the glossary of words very informative, giving the word, pronunciation and meaning.  Ms. Roman gives us a look into the Colonial Americans and how they shaped our world now.   Ms. Roman never fails to bring learning in a fun and interesting way.  I think every child should have this series of books on their shelf to read over and over again.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author, Carole P. Roman in exchange for my unbiased view of the book.

I would give this book 5 STARS.
