Lord Rivers Fitzroy is as charming and sought-after as his rakish elder
brothers, though he immerses himself more in dusty books and scholarly
pursuits than in bawdy houses. Yet, Hell-bent on making the most of his
remaining bachelorhood now that his father insists he marry, Rivers
becomes the favorite of a troupe of Italian dancers. One night, after a
performance, the handsome lord is challenged with a most provocative
wager: Turn the players’ meek and mousy cousin into the first lady of
the London stage.
But Lucia di Rossi is not what she seems. Scorned by the rest of her family, Lucia longs for the respect and stardom of a great actress. Rivers’s wager could be the answer to all her hopes—so long as he understands that she wants to be an actress, not his mistress. The two commence her metamorphosis in earnest—even as passion begins to take center stage. As Lucia’s dreams come true, she fears that it may be Rivers, not she, who is the master performer. Is he only making her believe he cares? Has she found the spotlight only to lose her heart—or will the final curtain reveal a love strong enough to last?

REVIEW
There's not words to describe this book. I loved it. I usually don't read these historic romances but this one kept me turning the pages. I loved the character names the author used such as Rivers and Lucia. You can picture Rivers with his golden locks and his hunk of a body. Then there's Lucia, you can see this pitiful little creature in a worn and torn shift with the only adornment being a cameo worn around her neck. I'm disappointed that this being the third in the series of three is the last book. I want more. The author writes the plot so that it flows smoothly and at a pace that you can lean back and enjoy what you're reading. It may remind some readers of MY FAIR LADY. I thought more of Cinderella. Lucia was the perfect Cinderella with her Prince Charming. It all starts out on a bet that Rivers could refine Lucia, but it ended up much more. MUCH MORE! Since Lucia couldn't dance like all of her other family members, Rivers vows to make her the exceptional actress that he knows she can be. Once Lucia started coming out of her shell, there was no stopping her, except every now and then she would slip back. Down under that little creature was a beautiful, strong and talented woman. Just look at the cover of the book. What started out as just a bet is a journey that will keep your attention as Lucia becomes Mrs. Willow. Grab a copy of this wonderful book and follow Rivers and Mrs. Willow on their life changing journey. Will either find romance? Read and find out.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author, Isabella Bradford and Night Owl Reviews in exchange for my unbiased review. No other compensation took place.
I would give this book 5 STARS.
