Anthony D'Augustine
OVERVIEW
(from Amazon)
Mac is back! In BEST ENEMIES, we met Mac Taylor, the rough and tumble
ex-Newark cop, who hunted down two old adversaries in the backwoods of
New York State. This time, the former Newark Police Detective has become
a Private Investigator. When his first client hires him to look into a
reported suicide, he soon uncovers a sinister plot that involves murders
in Scotland and Italy, and plans to destroy several U.S. landmarks.
Shortly after his discovery, Mac and his pregnant wife, Cheryl, become
targets of an international terror organization; specifically, that of a
psychopathic killer named Dirk Conroy, aka Ahmed Sal Mohammed. Working
with FBI Agent Sara Dillon, Mac sets out to find Conroy. Dillon wants
him captured alive. Mac wants him dead at all costs. Along the way,
Taylor's old friend from his Vietnam days, Nick Polsani, tries to
convince him that seeking justice is the only course of action to be
taken. Mac disagrees. It's not justice he's looking for, it's JUST
VENGEANCE.

Anthony D'Augustine was born in Teaneck, New Jersey in April of 1949.
His interests growing up were sports, science, and reading adventure

background began in January of 1975. He was president of the 24th Bergen
County Basic Police Training Class. After graduation, he worked as a
patrolman with the Dumont Police Department in New Jersey for 10 years,

REVIEW
To begin with Anthony D'Augustine, the author is a retired detective lieutenant. I'm sure that a lot of the story is from his own experiences, along with some research. Once you start reading this book, you will have a hard time setting it down. We met the main character, Mac in the debut novel, BEST ENEMIES. Be sure and read it. Mac, with his new PI license becomes involved in a global terrorism investigation. During the investigation, Mac and his wife become targets of a psychopathic killer, Dirk Conroy of which he has an alias. Mac sets out to find Conroy. He wants him dead. But there is a FBI agent that wants him alive. Sometimes, as Mac finds out, it's hard to tell good from bad. Mac is out for revenge. Will Mac find Conroy? Will he kill him or let him live? Is there such a thing as JUST VENGEANCE? The book was well written and delivered a lot of suspense. At times it will have you on the edge of your chair. The author gives the reader some real insight into what goes on in a detective's life. He has made this book true to life. Wonderful writing. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves mysteries and detective stories.
I received a complimentary copy of JUST VENGEANCE from Outskirts Press and the author, Anthony D'Augustine for my unbiased view of the book. No other compensation was received.
I would give this book 5 STARS.
