AUTHOR
Clifford Jackman was born in Deep River, Ontario, and grew up in Ottawa. He studied English literature at York University and Queen's University before attending Osgoode Hall Law School and being called to the bar in 2008.  He lives in Guelph, Ontario with his wife, Cathy and his son, Anthony.


REVIEW
This story spans almost three decades, THE WINTER FAMILY  travels America's harsh, untamed terrain, both serving and opposing the fierce advance of civilization.  The Winter Family includes the psychopathic killer, Quentin Ross, the man and moronic Empire brothers, the ex slave Fred Johnson had the evil child prodigy Lukas Shakespeare.   Int he middle of this is their cold, uncompromising leader, Augustus Winter, a man with pathological resistance to the rules of society and a preternatural gift for butchery that is matched only by his eerie charisma.  With the high, powerful, haunting style, THE WINTER FAMILY is a fast paced meditation that has a deadly aim at human nature and the dark contradictions of progress.
A very well written book that will keep you entranced as you turn the pages.  I didn't want to give away too much because it is such a good book.   Pick up a copy and read it.  It is a fairly large book but well worth it.
