In a section of Los Angeles near Dodger
Stadium, two rival gangs rule the streets. For the Alvarado Street
Diablos, it’s been a year since the murder of one of their closest
members at the hands of their sworn enemy, the North Rampart Lobos. A
drive-by killing in his honor is planned, but things go wrong and an
innocent bystander is the victim. Several hours later the one who pulled
the trigger suffers a horrifying death never before seen in its
uniqueness. Many more such cases follow, all involving only these two
gangs among the hundreds throughout the city. And each death occurs at

AUTHOR
As a professional lyricist, Keith co-wrote songs that have been heard
throughout the world. He is also a published poet, having had several of
his works appear in various anthologies, including Poetic Voices of
America, Ten Years of Excellence, Tomorrow Never Knows, and Meditations.In 2002, he received an "International Poet of Merit" award from the International Society of Poets.
Winner of Books-And-Authors.net's Book of the Year in the Supernatural Thriller Genre, The Poe Consequence is his first novel. He is currently working on a second novel - a murder mystery involving an ex-rock 'n roll star and a little girl fighting cancer who is a big fan of the Los Angeles Lakers. Keith lives in the Los Angeles county area and is married with two grown children.
REVIEW
I'm a fan of Edgar Allan Poe, the dark and the macabre. Some readers have gotten too involved with Poe and have suffered the consequences. Go foreword only if you have a strong heart. The Diablos were in search of their enemies and they had been told that the Lobos would be there. Was it payback time? If it was, tonight is the night. The went searching. The enemy wasn't interested in a fallen comrade but from the fact they were out of beer. No money. But there was the usual way to get what they wanted. They headed to a store and it just so happened a professor was going just for a quick stop, but, tragically, ended that night! Two other characters, Warren and Kevin who were twins, bonded early but not necessarily the same interests. Warren loved and was interested in Poe and took that interest into his decisions as a professor.
The Lobos were there waiting getting ready for the party to start. The Diablos knew where the Lobos would be so they did a drive by. I don't want to tell anymore of the story. You'll have to read it yourself. The author wrote a wonderful first novel. One thing I love is that he brings the horror message from Poe and adds it to Street Lit gang activities right on the LA streets.
The police didn't know where to start, no evidence, witness, no reason for death, or not until the autopsy showed what was inside each body.
The author tossed in a couple of paranormal issues that put some real spice into the read. The author merged today's world with Poe's time. I would suggest reading this if you only have a tough heart. It's scary, weird, fine writing and a worthy followup to Poe's classics. Worth reading and re-reading.
