From the Back Cover
Pretty and popular, Miss Clare Westmore knows exactly what (or rather, who) she wants: the next Duke of Harrington. But when she twists her ankle on the eve of the Season’s most touted event, Clare is left standing in the wallflower line watching her best friend dance away with her duke.Dr. Daniel Merial is tempted to deliver more than a diagnosis to London's most unlikely wallflower, but he doesn’t have time for distractions, even one so delectable. Besides, she's clearly got her sights on more promising prey. So why can’t he stop thinking about her?
All Clare wants to do is return to the dance floor. But as her former friends try to knock her permanently out of place, she realizes with horror she is falling for her doctor instead her duke. When her ankle finally heals and she faces her old life again, will she throw herself back into the game?
Or will her time in the wallflower line have given her a glimpse of who she was really meant to be?
REVIEW
Everybody wants some moments in their lives when they stand out or shine., even those wallflowers. The next Duke of Harrington, Mr. Alban is being charmed by Clare Westmore to get married.Since she is the daughter of a Viscount, she is the belle of London's social season. Clare learns to flirt, gossip, dance, dress all in the desire to make the match of the season. Somehow she twists her ankle while she was at the pond in the park with her siblings. Even so, Clare insists on going to the ball anyway where she expects to see Mr. Alban. Too bad that her injury puts her on the sideline with the other wallflowers. She still grasps the attention of Dr. Daniel Meriel who comes to help her when she was in pain with her ankle. Thus the dance begins between two fated lovers. The author wrote a heart warming Victorian romance in which the humble hero is Daniel. He sees Clare for the beauty that she s. He takes her younger brother and sister under his wing and inspires and influences them. Care feels she needs to be an outstanding picture of beauty and intellect in order to attract a title husband. She begins to realize that through Daniel the privileged life may not be for her. The author gives us a lot in this book, medicine, Latin, animals, history and of course that never ending romance.
I was given a complimentary copy of DIARY OF AN ACCIDENTAL WALLFLOWER from the author, Jennifer McQuiston and Night Owl Reviews for my view of the book.
I would give this book 4 STARS.
