Biography

Holly Hook grew up with a strange fascination with natural disasters, especially tornadoes. She would spend her adolescent years watching storms, writing about them, and searching for young adult books that combined weather with fantasy. Frustrated that these books did not exist, she decided to write them years later. The result is the 5-book Destroyers Series, the first of which is about human hurricanes. She is also working on the Deathwind Trilogy, a spin-off of the Destroyers Series, and the Timeless Trilogy.

She lives with her two cats and her twenty-four tarantulas.

REVIEW
The author presents Allie's personality as being a young protagonist that has an unique personality.   She's also a thrill seeker too! To start out with, two luscious young men are challenging each other for her love.   Allie is caught up in her first storm.  From page one, the reader is hanging on tight to page one until the end.  Allie's voice is a little realistic for a teenager and her BFF/possible love, Tommy.  He also journeys with Allie over the flat plains of Nebraska struggling for answers.  Allie's best gal pal is cut from the action near the end.  Don't worry, she doesn't die. I wish the author had spent more time on the personalities and relationships of the characters, especially Allie.  Allie has an obsession with storm chasing.   Why?  Allie's relationship with Tommy, him being her BFF, just hold on a minute, this Nebraska boy is hot.  Will Allie make out with Tommy at the convenience story... no wait..? All and all this book was definitely a good book.  Looks like Allie  had two obsessions of chasing storms, one was tornadoes and the other was hot boys.  Don't miss out on TWISTED by Holly Hook.
