Dear Reader,
I've always thought it was fun to be introduced to a character in one book then to read their story in the next. That's exactly what I got to do with Gunnar, Heartlandia's own playboy police Sergeant, who was first introduced in A DOCTOR FOR KEEPS. And his story turns out to be a doozy, too. Enter Lilly, the new journalist from San Francisco with a pert nose for news, whose special knack seems to be how to drive Gunnar batty. Flash forward, and those "batty" sparks turn into fireworks.
But there's always more to a story than meets the eye, and that's the part us authors love the most. See, Gunnar, as a law enforcement officer, thinks of himself as a guardian for his hometown. He's a guy who wants to make up for his father's misguided deeds. Let's just say he likes to be in control. And Lilly is a lady with a privileged upbringing, but who has never felt she measured up to her parents expectations. So she comes to town with an agenda to get a breaking story to make a name for herself. Failure is no longer an option.
The problem is, Gunnar will do anything to keep Lilly from discovering Heartlandia's secret before the Mayor makes the big city-wide announcement, and Lilly will do anything to find out exactly what that story is. The craziest part of all is, with all the action going on, Gunnar and Lilly still manage to fall in love.

The second book in the 'HOME in HEARTLANDIA' series, HER PERFECT PROPOSAL written by Lynne Marshall. The book is a stand alone or may be read in series. Ms. Marshall's books are a joy to read. They are clean, quick reads that can be enjoyed on a cold winter's day.I liked the way you get to meet a character in one book and in the next book get to know them better.
Ms. Lilly Matsuda is cited, by Gunnar Norling, the local cop, for jaywalking on her very first day in Heartlandia. Gunnar is rather a playboy and considers Heartlandia his town to protect. Gunnar likes to be in control and Miss Lilly had a privileged up bringing. Miss Lilly got a stern warning to obey the city's rules. She had just moved there to take over the local newspaper, coming from San Francisco.She is determined to make herself known. Make a name for herself and Gunnar is determined to keep her from finding out the town's secret. Lilly is bound and determined to find out what that secret is. After all of this will Gunnar and Lilly fall in love?? Will Heartlandia ever be the same?
