RIGHTFUL OWNER by Hemmie Martin

Hemmie Martin

Rightful Owner

When a murder occurs in an exclusive swinger’s club, DI Wednesday and DS Lennox find themselves immersed in a murky world of sex and secrets. It doesn’t take long for the members to turn on one another, and for their clandestine affairs to come crashing into their everyday lives. As Wednesday experiences the pressures of work and caring for her mother’s mental illness, and Lennox’s ex-wife has him worrying about the sustainability of his role as a father, their case brings about questions of personal freedom and they begin to wonder if we are all, in fact, owned in one way or another.

Everybody knows when you belong to an elite club, there are rules and rules get broken! It seemed that every character I met, I hated and yet I liked.  I guess I liked hating them.  As a reader, you will become so hung on this book and its characters.  There was such a mixture of characters.  A little of everything. You have this husband that feels because he is rich he can do whatever he pleases.Things included in the book is romance, The first characters, new to the group are April and Craig.  Here's one of those women that goes out of her way to make her husband happy, no matter what. Things aren't always the way they appear.Things begin to change.. one of the group is murdered.   There appears there is no conversation in the group about their friend being murdered. Slowly the group starts to get further and further apart.  That ceiling crack is getting bigger. The group begins to break up and the members start looking out for each other. The other two characters, DI Wednesday and DS Lennox have personal problems as well as Professional. Getting to know them in the story, you get to know their backgrounds and the story had more  depth to it.  The author wrote a gripping thriller that has a good mystery .  To me that is the sign of a good book when you have to, just have to turn those pages.

I received a complimentary copy of RIGHTFUL OWNER from the author, Hemmie Martin.   No other compensation took place.

I would give this book 4 STARS.
