 REVIEW
Setting: 1887 England during Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee.I'm not usually a fan of steam punk romance but the title struck me for some reason.  I wanted to read this book.Beth Ciotta wrote HIS CLOCKWORK CANARY, which was the second full length book in this series.Such a page turning novel, uniqueness, characters that are really interesting and romances that are given a second chance. I didn't get a chance to read the two books before this one but this book stood on its own quite well.We meet, Simon Darci,  the younger twin son of a notorious inventor who blew himself up while trying to get to the moon.  Simon is determined to restore the family's good name.He plans on winning the scientific competition "Clockwork propulsion system" that Queen Victoria has set up.The Clockwork Canary or "Willie G" helps Simon although I don't quite know why.  This reporter had spread so much to make the family name dirt.  As the two spend time together, Simon finds out the "Willie" in not a "he" but a "she".  She's a woman from his past, Wilhemina Goodenough.  What a name?  The author really added some unexpected happenings to the story.
She portrays herself as a man since she is a Mod-Freak with paranormal power.  The author develops the characters with secrets, which they both have and they both have trust issues.  Another thing they must face is the love that they had before that never went away. The story is rather fast paced as characters from the previous books add more drama to the story.  Will they win the pursuit of victory? The character and plot development keep the story interesting, funny at times and intriguing.  It was interesting how the two met again after so many years.  Life is strange and there are a few strange happenings in this book.   I would recommend this book to anyone who like a little paranormal, a little sci-fi, humor, and romance.  Grab up a copy and decide for yourself.  I found the cover and title quite interesting.

I was given a complimentary copy of HIS CLOCKWORK CANARY from the author, Beth Ciotta and Manic Readers for my view.  No other compensation took place.

I would give this book 4 STARS.
