KEVIN
BOY TO MAN
by
E.Finklemeyer
OVERVIEW
A tale of a young man who lives a solitary life and is in desperate need
of female contact, other than from his mother and Aunt. Follow Kevin
through his metamorphosis from boy to man, enjoy the characters he meets
along the way. Accompany him through his journey, experience the sad,
the happy, the hilarious and the serious. A story so full of emotions, a
story which unfurls from something simple into something so wonderful.
Something of a modern Tom Sharpe book, very witty and deliciously rude.
Think Sue Townsend's brilliantly funny Adrian Mole series but rewritten for adults.

REVIEW
This book is written in a diary/memoir style. It's about attempts of a 20 year old to get sex. His hormones are driving him crazy and are constantly nagging at him. The book is written with quite a bit of humor. Kevin Bradstock gets himself into so many situations that the book gives you a lot of enjoyment. Just a reminder, The book does have some sex scenes so it may be only suitable for adults. I believe the author put in the sex scenes to show how Kevin was growing and maturing.
Kevin is pretty much a typical teenager. As most teenagers, he is quite set on sex but he does have morals and is quite a likable teenager. I found the part where Kevin meets a mistress. This added a different touch to this book compared to some other coming of age books.
The supporting characters also add humor and the author described them as people you might know. They not only pt in humor but some important parts to the book.
The book is not your typical teenager hung up on sex. The author takes a different approach which is refreshing.
I would recommend this book to any adult who enjoys reminiscing of those teenage years and how sex was so important to you. You may sit back and smile or laugh thinking how immature you may have been as a teenager. Thinking you were in love and love meant sex. As we are older, our outlook becomes different, just like it did for Kevin as he grew and matured.
I received a complimentary copy of KEVIN - BOY TO MAN from the author, E. Finklemeyer for my view of the book. No other compensation took place.
I would give this book 4 STARS.
