AUTHOR

Originally from California, Nina Rowan holds a PhD in Art History from McGill University, Montreal, with a specialization in 19th century French and Russian art. She began writing when she was an undergraduate at UCLA and lived a dual life as a student and a pseudonymous erotica author. She has studied Indian and Southeast Asian art and film, worked as a curatorial assistant at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and traveled in India and Europe.

A librarian-at-heart, she also holds an MA in Library and Information Sciences, a course of study that renewed a deep-seated interest in folklore and fairy tales. In addition to being an eternal student, or likely because of it, Nina possesses an abiding love for research that involves dusty, old books. She also thinks popcorn should be one of the four food groups. She lives in Wisconsin with her atmospheric scientist husband and two children.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I found DREAM OF DESIRE to be a lovely and sweet historical romance. There wasn't only romance, which was a sweet romance, but we had danger and to really t op it off, the evil side of London. I couldn't have asked for more.

I like the way the author has strong heroines, not a 'in your face' heroine, but in a quiet, gentle way.

The heroine in this book, Talia didn't fall to pieces when rejection happened. Instead she stayed where she was and took on charity work. She didn't let the rejection take hold of her life to make her run and run to escape it. She stayed. She faced danger head on. Not only strong, but a charming and lovely woman.

I felt James had a confidence issue. He was always putting walls up to hide things. He pushed people away from him and used the excuse of leaving London to do that. Even so, He was a good man. He took care of his loved ones. Sometimes, though I thought he acted like a little child when he was trying to protect Talia. I liked the way the author made the man, vulnerable. Usually an author, makes the woman the vulnerable one. You couldn't help but like him.

I won't go into the romance between James and Talia. I'll leave that to the reader. You won't be disappointed.

The story hooked me from page one. No, actually from the cover. I only became more hooked as I read more and more. Even with the few webs that were woven about the evil side of London, the book just became more interesting.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a sweet, with a little danger added in, historical romance. A strong woman, a vulnerable man, romance, danger along with the mix of the evil side of London.
