EVA FROM E-VILLE by Kathy Johnson

A new category
In the telling of evil EVA'S story ...
It's like a comic book.
But it isn't.
It's like a graphic novel.
But it isn't.
And it's quite fiction.
It's a new genre -

Kathy Johnson is an attorney, creator of Starlette Universe and mother of Miss Vermont 1999 and Miss Vermont USA 2001 as well as a Phi Beta Kappa graduate from the University of Georgia. She is a J.D. graduate from the University of Florida School of Law. The six Starlettes appeared in Pageantry Magazine for seven years and became the basis for the Starlette Universe series, which is replete with rhyme and wordplay. Eva From E-ville, a book of 1,000 puns is the second book in the middle-grade series. The first book is 'CAT'astrophe. Kathy Johnson is also the author of What a Babe, which introduces Lil' Lilly as the newest member of the Starlette Universe cast. Eva From E-Ville is unique in that it presents a new genre of story telling, "Piction," where brightly colored text and over 300 illustrations interact to tell Eva's story. For everyone who reads this book, the author offers this advice, "Whatever you do, don't let 'EVA'L get you!"

Captain Cartoon (aka Dick Kulpa) is well known throughout South Florida as a prolific party and event caricature artist. Self taught via the "School of Hard Knocks," the Captain's works have appeared in newspapers and magazines spanning four decades, including newspapers, CAR-Toons Magazine, CRACKED Magazine and Weekly World News where he is best known as the creator of Bat Boy.
Syndicated at various times via the LA Times Syndicate, Tribune Media Services, and Weekly World News' own syndication service, Captain Cartoon's artworks have entertained readers from Moscow to Hong Kong, New York City to Loves Park, Illinois. The Captain illustrated the Star Trek and Bruce Lee newspaper comics in 1983, then re-emerged in 1995 as the illustrator of the Ghost Story Club newspaper comic strip. The Captain is currently working with prolific punster and Starlette Universe creator Kathy Johnson toward the development of her new "piction" genre and is illustrating her Lil' Lilly book series.

Eva from Eville is written in a new ‘diction of fiction’ – which I call ‘piction!.
                                                                                 (from the author)

This creative book is of a new genre which Ms. Johnson calls PICTION.  If you haven't seen the first book, grab  copy and enjoy.   She has written a word/picture book where there are lessons to be learned for younger girls along with being fun to read and look at.
Young girls will have a fun time with the different characters, and the crazy journey that keeps the young, vivid imagination to  work.  I believe the only way to review this book is through the reading and the illustrations. STARLETTE UNIVERSE is about teen and pre-teen girls with fun, poetry, puns, and lessons in the way of cartoons.  If you love this book as much as I did, and I''m one of those young at hearts, you will want to go to the website (listed below) and join the fan club, and learn about all the  Starlettes.

I would recommend this book to all teens, pre-teens, and even us young at heart.  It's fun, informative, creative, imaginative and lots and lots more.

I was given a complimentary copy of Eva from E-Ville from the author, Kathy Johnson for my view of the book.  No other compensation took place.

I would give this book 5
