EMMA'S SECRET by Steena Holmes

EMMA'S SECRET                          5 STARS
A Novel
by Steena Holmes

OVERVIEW (FROM AMAZON)
For two years, Megan, Peter, and their two older daughters, Alexis and Hannah, dream of nothing but being reunited with the family’s youngest child, Emma, who was kidnapped just before her third birthday. When Emma is miraculously found living with an elderly couple just miles from the family’s home, they are hopeful that her return will heal the wounds her disappearance created.
But Emma is vastly different from the sunny toddler they remember. She barely remembers her parents or her older sisters. She is quiet and withdrawn, and, worst of all, longs for the very people who kidnapped her.

REVIEW:
I finished this book some time ago, co I just had to read it again.  The author wrote a fantastic story.  I just couldn't let it go.  I felt so sad and happy at the same time.  You can so feel the characters emotions The characters are so realistic.  You may find a a tear or two as you read.  Megan, Peter and Emma were like your friends or neighbors next door.  They had the same struggles that a real family has to go through.  This book is a stand alone but has a pre-sequel called FINDING EMMA,  then comes DEAR JACK and EMMA'S SECRET. If you can, you should bread the first two before this one.  I didn't know about the other two books until I read this one.

I was a bit agitated at Megan.  Why couldn't she let  Emma send her Papa a few pictures.  After all she was raised by him and Dottie.  They loved her and Emma loved them.  They actually were the only ones she knew.  I believe Jack didn't know what Dottie had done and he loved that little girl. Peter overcame the  bad feelings he had for Jack and started to let Jack be a part of Emma's life.  Megan was extremely paranoid.  She wouldn't let Emma out of her sight, which I don't believe helped Emma adjust like she should have.

I couldn't help but love this story.  So real, with so much emotion.  You wanted to actually be there to share in finding Emma and the struggles afterwards.  I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.  The ending is so heart warming, it did me good.  So if you get a chance go back and start with FINDING EMMA and then read EMMA'S SECRET.  It might give you a better understanding and feel for the characters and what's going on.  Don't miss out on this book.  It's truly wonderful.

I would give this book 5 STARS.
I received a complimentary  copy of the book,, EMMA'S SECRET by Steena Holmes from BookSparks PR for this unbiased review.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: (FROM AMAZON)
Growing up as a small town Canadian girl, there wasn't much to do but ride your bike, hang out with friends on the beach and daydream. I always wanted to write but never dreamed it was something I could do as a career. I love to travel and fell in love with the sheep covered hillside, old castles and romantic history of Scotland and England. I dream about waking up in Tuscany and touring small town shops in the south of France with my husband, of placing my toes in the ocean and experiencing history first hand. As a mother with three daughters, I'm learning that teaching them to pursue their dreams is a lasting legacy. I love to wake up to the Rocky Mountains, will forever enjoy the taste of coffee and chocolate and can't imagine the day when a story doesn't unfold in my heart. Living a life with passion and pursuing dreams is a life well lived.
