IF YOU WERE ME AND LIVED IN ...FRANCE & STRANGERS ON THE HIGH SEAS by Carole P. Roman

                                           5 STARS for both books

IF YOU WERE ME AND LIVED IN...FRANCE
STRANGERS ON THE HIGH SEAS
both by Carole P. Roman

 OVERVIEW: (FROM AMAZON)
"If You Were Me and Lived in...France-A Child's Introduction to Culture Around the World" is the second book in Carole P. Roman's remarkable series about countries all over the globe. With each book covering a different nation, Roman opens up a world of wonder while highlighting the fact that underneath it all we are far more alike than we might have imagined. Focusing on what life would be like from a child's viewpoint, she examines the diversity of the people who make up our planet.

Captain No Beard and the crew of the Flying Dragon welcome a new crew member, when Cabin Girl Cayla joins the ship. Responsible for his little sister, Captain No Beard is not very happy because he finds his newest charge a distraction. When faced with danger, the captain must find a way to escape. While learning valuable lessons about strangers, the crew realized not to judge somebody because they are young or small. Strength comes in all sizes!

REVIEWS:

IF YOU WERE ME AND LIVED IN FRANCE is Ms. Roman's newest series . This is her second book. This book takes children on another journey to a different part of the world to see how other children learn and about the way they live. The readers enter the world of places like France where one might see the Eiffel Tower in Paris .  Children may learn a little French.  There are pronunciations in the back of the book. They learn that just because a child comes from a different culture doesn't mean that they don't like some of the same things.  Children are children.  The book has some wonder and colorful  pictures which helps to make the book so great for children.  Pictures and colors attract a child's attention.  I wouldn't put a reading age on this book.  If the child can't read, maybe a momma, daddy, Nana or papa can read to them.  Nana and Papa might even enjoy the book.  It's for all ages.

I give this book 5 Stars!

In this fourth book of the fun series CAPTAIN NO BEARD has no beard, of course. The Captain is only a young one using his imagination to go about his adventures.  All children will like this book because all children use their imaginations to start new adventures. Children will learn while enjoying this book.  Anytime they use their imaginations they are learning.  The author makes learning fun.  Captain No Beard is actually Alexander. He is babysitting Cayla, she is the newer member of his crew.  He has made her the cabin girl.  She saves Captain No Beard and the crew .

I give this book 5 Stars.

I received a complimentary copy of these two books from the author in exchange for this unbiased review.
