This book is a fast paced romance, very sensuous with suspense added in.
There is a grieving hero and a heroine ridden with guilt. Both of them want a cottage on Northumbrian Island. Rachel Grant was fighting to keep her Nan's cottage, but Aidan wants it too. He is striving to honor a promise he made to his deceased wife. Unfortunately for Rachel, the people on the island seem to be on Aidan's side. But then, wouldn't we all want to have the good looking her beside us?
Alexa Bourne was very descriptive in her writing, especially about Aidan. He was so, oh so, steamy, strong and caring. Rachel was intelligent and down to earth.
The author's description of the town made you feel as though you lived there. The town seemed to care a lot about Rachel, though she hadn't been there in years. Let's say, most everyone liked her. Rachel wasn't an outside beauty but an overall beauty inside. When push came to shove, she became tough and strong.
Aidan appeared to be the perfect everything, handsome, caring, a gentleman and a perfect lover. The author made the sex very intimate and steamy.
I really liked this book from the beginning to the surprise ending. You always felt like you were a part of the town, a part of Rachel and Aidan's lives. This is a short read but you'll be in a trance every moment you're reading. You'll want to read this over again. I'm not sure if you can get enough of the steamy sex between Rachel and Aidan.
