ABOUT THE BOOK

Stories for kids: A cat and kangaroo series with lots of adventures.

Oliver is an elegant tuxedo cat, who is full of himself. As a matter of fact he says: “I love myself!”, quite often. Naughty, isn’t he? But his best friend Jumpy, a kangaroo lady, is aware that he has a soft heart and will always want to help others. The great thing is Jumpy’s pouch, which Oliver loves to ride in! He calls her his kangaroo taxi! These little bedtime stories with their lovely illustrations are great for small kids. A parent can read the text and tell the child in his own words. These animal stories have sufficient text to keep early readers happy and provide some educational value. Love you all! Meow!
Story 55: Flood – The land gets flooded and Oliver is of great help, as always.
Story 56: Lazy Squirrel – The lazy squirrel boy is taught a lesson to help others.
Story 57: Unexpected Lory – Oliver has to deal with a know-it-all teenager.

 MY THOUGHTS
This author, Mr. Stejskal, keeps giving us wonderful stories about a dapper cat, named Oliver and his friend Jumpy, a kangaroo.
This book, 19 brings three more stories about this duo.   This takes place in Silandia, a wonderful magical country.
Story One is about Oliver's home, a tree house that he has made ever so homey.   A bad storm goes through but since Oliver's home is in the trees, the flooding protects his home.  That left many of his friends without any where to live.   So what does Oliver do?   He lets them come to his home.    This story carries with it a big lesson in emergency situations.   You have to work together, think fast and what's good for everyone.  Other lessons to learn along the way.
The author always uses very descriptive phrasing in his stories so that the attention is caught and the reader can actually picture what is going on.   Along with the story are some colorful illustrations that help to paint the story.
Story Two is pictured on the cover of the book.  It's about a poor little squirrel who is crying to Oliver about all her woes.   Nice Oliver, is trying his best to care but is getting a little agitated at the same time.   It's about someone who works hard and then someone who would rather take than work hard.   Oliver plays detective and teaches the "taker" a valuable lesson.
Story Three
Oliver is in for a big surprise when he returns home late one evening.  Who is sitting in his tree house?   A pretty young feline.   She has run away from home and thinks Oliver will take care of her and all will be great.  But Oliver is a bachelor and finds this little escapade rather interesting.  You'll never guess what Oliver excels in?  He may have to use it during this feline's stay in his tree house.
These book about Oliver and Jumpy are among the best that a child or adult could read.  They are not only fun but they are interesting and always have little lessons to be learned.    Oliver, Jumpy and their friends will become your child's friends also.
These are books that will make a nice addition to your child's book shelf to read and re-read over and over again.

I received this book from the author and voluntarily decided to review it.
I would give this book    5  STARS.
