The Cowboy Who Came Calling
A Former Texas Ranger on a mission A determined woman slowly losing her sight A love neither could have predicted ...and a danger that may steal their happy ending before it can even begin. Glory Day may be losing her vision, but that doesn't mean she'll ever stop fighting. Determined to provide for her struggling family, she confronts an outlaw with a price on his head. But when a mysterious cowboy gets between her and her target, Glory accidentally shoots him instead. Flustered, she has no option but to take the handsome stranger home to treat his wounds. Former Texas Ranger Luke McClain didn't plan to fall in love, but there's no denying the strength of Glory's will or the sweetness of her heart. But Glory's been burned before, and Luke will have to reach into the depths of his own battered soul to convince her to take a chance... And trust that love is worth fighting for. MY THOUGHTS

Usually an author gives you a romance that all ends well and everybody is happy.  Riding off into the sunset and everything is well with the world and each other.  This time is different and it is refreshing to see that all doesn't end well and everything can't be fixed to perfection.  What a change from the norm and kudos to the author for this.  It gives the reader the feel that this is real, not a fantasy where everything can be fixed with a mere band aid.  Marriage is hard work and the author shows this with our hero and heroine as they ride into the sunset, but knowing they have some hard work ahead to make their marriage work' The author gives both sides of what love can be, good with the hard mixed in and that is real.  BUT I have to say, I felt that the good outweighed the bad in this book.   We get a strong heroine in Glory who is one who knows that you have to face the trouble in life, face on;. We get the hero, Luke who is a combination of personalities but he holds his own, sometimes it is humorous the way he stumbles through life.  Other characters, Glory's younger sister, Patience is very interesting.  She is in conflict with her name of Patience.  Think on it.   Could be another story.  Then we have another hero and that too, could be another story of romance.  Maybe in another book.  Hope so! Characters to love and anticipation in future stories grab you from the start and don't let go.  Not only characters to love but the Texas setting is in the midst at all times.  As you read you may wish a cowboy would call.

I received a copy of this book from Night Owl Reviews and was under no obligation to review it.

I would give this book 5 STARS.
