TRUE TO YOU
A Bradford Sisters Romance
Book One

True to You (A Bradford Sisters Romance Book #1) by [Wade, Becky]

ABOUT THE BOOK
Exciting Start of a Brand-New Series by a Contemporary Romance Fan Favorite

After a devastating heartbreak three years ago, genealogist and historical village owner Nora Bradford has decided that burying her nose in her work and her books is far safer than romance in the here and now.

Unlike Nora, former Navy SEAL and Medal of Honor recipient John Lawson is a modern-day man, usually 100 percent focused on the present. But when he's diagnosed with an inherited condition, he's forced to dig into the secrets of his past and his adoption as an infant, enlisting Nora to help him uncover the identity of his birth mother.

The more time they spend together, the more this pair of opposites suspects they just might be a perfect match. However, John's already dating someone and Nora's not sure she's ready to trade her crushes on fictional heroes for the risks of a real relationship. Finding the answers they're seeking will test the limits of their identity, their faith, and their devotion to one another.

 ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Becky Wade
During her childhood in California, Becky frequently produced homemade plays starring her sisters, friends, and cousins. These plays almost always featured a heroine, a prince, and a love story with a happy ending. She's been a fan of all things romantic ever since.
Becky and her husband lived overseas in the Caribbean and Australia before settling in Dallas, Texas. It was during her years abroad that Becky's passion for reading turned into a passion for writing. She published three historical romances with Avon Books, then put her career on hold for several years to care for her three kids, then recently returned to writing sheerly for the love of it. She felt led to move to the genre of contemporary Christian romance and couldn’t be more thrilled with it.

These days Becky can be found failing but trying to keep up with her housework, sweating at the gym, carting her kids around town, playing tennis, hunched over her computer, eating chocolate, or collapsed on the sofa watching TV with her husband.

MY THOUGHTS
I have been doing a little genealogy research in the last couple years  so I enjoyed that part of the book a lot.  It was a different plot than a lot of books I have read.   I did have a problem with the book, though.  So much going on,I felt a little overwhelmed at times. Nora Bradford is a historical researcher.   She loves the past, except hers.   Her past keeps her single, a secure place for her and depends on herself, no one else.  She meets a Navy SEAL who recently found out about a medical problem he has.  He has decided this is the time to find out about his past. especially since he is adopted. So, will searching for their pasts bring a future for them? The book was light and airy, as I like to say.A little bit of humor, some seriousness and wholesome.   Just when you've settled in and things are getting just a bit slow, the page turns and all is changed.  This is the page that changes things, the frilly little romance has a sharp turn that takes the reader into thinking about God's plans for us.  Sometimes we have to go through the pain before we see the road level out. Nora and John try to deny but can't, the attraction they have to each other.  They are happy and at peace when together but they both have baggage. They don't want to hurt anyone but they are human and sometimes, wants and needs come to the surface.  I loved the book in the fact that you can relate to them.  They aren't all prettied up like icing on a cake.  They have their faults just like anyone.  They feel, need and want, just like anyone.  Sometimes their decisions are questionable, just like anyone. If you want a little background on John and Nora, you might want to read the prequel novella, Then Came You. When you finish with TRUE TO YOU, you may want to continue the Bradford Sisters Romance series.
