Amber Leigh Williams is a Harlequin romance writer who lives on the
US Gulf Coast. She lives for beach days, the smell of real books, and
spending time with her husband and their two young children. When she’s
not keeping up with rambunctious little ones (and two large dogs), she

Roxie Honeycutt can make everyone elses dreams come true but it's not for her. She went that route and now she's recently divorced and wants no part of thinking about a man much less a wedding for herself. She's finished with love. Instead of wanting a man, she wants a house. A Victorian house. She's in love with this house.
As Roxie is looking at the house with a realtor, they come upon Byron Strong. He's in the middle of shaving. What a shock that must have been for everyone. Come to find out, Byron thinks the house is his since his grandmother was supposed to have given it to him. Now what is going on? A deal is struck where Roxie will rent it for a year and then Byron will take it over.
But there's always a catch and the catch is, Byron is falling for Roxie. He sees behind her smile. He sees the hurt that she tries so hard to hide. Now we have two people who don't want any part of love, marriage, weddings and commitments. Byron has been hurt too, only in a different way. He's a widower.
Will Roxie cross that fine line from being friends with Byron or not? She realizes she is falling for Byron and likes his odd little family. What is causing all the hurt that Roxie is trying to hide? It seems to have something to do with a back stabbing sister.
What did she do? The author gives you a romance that the reader doesn't think will happen. As you turn the pages you wonder what happened to cause her to get a divorce. The author gives you a hunk of a man who is handsome, smart, sexy and keeps Roxie wondering. The author gives you some fun little twists and turns that at times will make you smile. The pace is steady and isn't clogged up with a lot of characters to keep up with. As you read, you wonder why Roxie, being a wedding planner, was caught between walking down that aisle or watching others do it. You would think being a wedding planner would be lots of fun and make you want those plans to be made for you. But, life has a way of stepping in front of those dreams and wishes. Will Roxie and Byron be able to side step life's little interruption?
A fun, quick read that will let you get away from the hectic day for just a little while.
