LYDIA'S GUNSLINGER
Revolving Point
TX Series
Book Two
by
Julie Lence
Fleeing the abusive headmaster at the St. Louis orphanage, Roth turned
to gunslinging as a means for survival. Years of looting and raiding put
his face on several Wanted posters, and instilled in him an aversion to
settling down. That is, until he meets Lydia Tyler, the woman building
the orphanage along the Rio Grande. Although he's the deputy of
Revolving Point, Lydia detests his hardened ways. She's also got trouble
on her hands; a headmaster linked to Roth's old nemesis. Roth will do
everything he can to help Lydia. And convince her he's not as deplorable
as his guns suggest.
Lydia Tyler has no use for guns and violence. All she wants is to build her orphanage and give her children a safe and loving home. Trouble is, Papa has hired a headmaster without her say-so; an arrogant man who schemes to usurp her authority, a man Deputy Roth despises. When Roth offers to rid Lydia of the troublemaker, Lydia doesn't approve of his methods. But that doesn't stop her from melting every time Roth holds her hand. The more she gets to know him, the more she reconsiders his menacing ways. He may be a gunslinger, but the warmth in his gaze hints there's more to him than his pistols.

THE AUTHOR
Julie was born and raised in upstate New York. She married her high
school sweetheart and accompanied him on his twenty-year career with the
United States Air Force. Currently, she makes her home in the Pikes
Peak region, where she is a stay-at-home mom enjoying a career writing
western historical romance.
In the late 80's, a friend introduced Julie to the romance genre. She was instantly hooked, and credits Johanna Lindsey's addictive and endearing Malory family and Judith McNaught's flawless voice as inspirations to pen her own novels. Combining her fondness for horses, John Wayne's cowboy persona, and the television show, Dallas, she settled into writing western historical romance early in her career.
Julie self-publishes her work on Amazon. She also designs her own covers and blogs monthly at Cowboy Kisses blogspot. When she's not at her computer, she enjoys taking care of her family and home, exploring the Rocky Mountains and meeting fans of the romance genre. Visit with her here:

MY THOUGHTS
This is the second book of the series that I've read and after the first, I'm hooked. Lydia wanted an orphanage in Revolving Point. Nothing is going to stop her. She was tough. She also was opinionated. She knew how she wanted things and that's the way it was going to be. She had so much to overcome. Then we have Roth who doesn't have much confidence in himself. He doesn't think much of himself at all. He's a rough and tough cowboy that is as opinionated as Lydia. He knows what he wants and that's how it's going to be. He wants to settle down but figures it isn't going to happen. The only woman he thinks will be in his life is his sister. Then along came Lydia and this society lady turns his head. Will romance be in the stars for Roth and Lydia. Twists and turns appear as you turn the pages. This is a book that will keep you turning the pages and you won't want to put it down. The author gives you such romance in a western fashion. I would suggest that you read the books in order. Ms. Lence gives characters that fit into the roles perfectly. She not only gives you romance, but adds in a little mystery and a a tad bit of humor. I love the outlaws of the west and who wouldn't? Their past has made them who they are and sometimes they are rough and tough on the outside but soft and gentle on the inside. They hide those softer feelings, that is, until a woman, no, the perfect woman, comes along.
Roth was that kind of man. He was tough on the outside but inside he was gentle. He had his gentleman standards. You treated a woman with respect, you were honest, faithful and cared for animals and little ones. What more could you want from a man, a real man?
I you're a lover of outlaws, outlaws with gentlemen aspects, strong men and women, the ole west, oh, I could go on and on, you will love this book along with the first book. The author gives you everything you could want in this book. Don't let this one pass you by. It's a winner!
I received a copy of this book from the author and voluntarily decided to review it.
I would give this book 5 STARS.
