MY THOUGHTS
Aspen Breeze Lodge is a place you would go to relax and where things are quiet and peaceful. Well you would if unit nine hadn't turned into the scene of a dead person.
Jennifer left her stress behind and became the mountain resorts owner. She has a man in her life and she thinks her life is now complete, but...
a murder, a historical society that is rather strange and a tale of a gold heist has put things on edge.
How do they think they will catch this murderer? Will the peacefulness of the Lodge be the ruin of it?
This is a cozy mystery and it has just a touch of romance. It is a series of stand alones but they are connected also. The books are
Book 1: Murder in the Mountains
Book 1: Murder in the Mountains
Book 2: A Novel Way to Die
Book 3: COMING SOON
I wasn't a fan of Clint, Jennifer's boyfriend. She was like a puppet and did everything he said. I know he was probably charming but she is supposed to be a strong, stand on her own woman. She lets Clint rule her, tell her what and what not to do. Just like a child. I just had a hard time dealing with her. But then as I read, Jennifer started changing, standing up for herself and not listening to Clint as much. I didn't feel the characters were really developed. There just wasn't much of the individual showing through. It came through as an actual play acting.
I liked the setting the author picked. I love the mountains and being an owner of a Lodge, that would be a way of getting away from the rush and hectic city life.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and Book Funnel and voluntarily decided to review it.
I would give this book 3 STARS.
