BOOK DETAILS
(from Amazon)

Not for the shy and timid! As raw as a Russian winter.

Does the Devil exist?
Is there really a fallen angel named Lucifer

Are the temptations that beset mankind really the products of an evil Satan? Are the fires of Hell a reality? And your answers to these questions are:_____? Undecided, perhaps? Then, read on.
Compared favorably by many to renown authors of horror and suspense such as Stephen King, Dean Koontz and Bram Stoker, Russia's Master of Horror Sergey Mavrodi introduces us to his world... the world of angels and devils, of Lucifer and Lucifer's son, the world of temptation and seduction in his latest masterpiece of deviltry and suspense. In a world of horror and fear that is almost too realistic to be fiction, Mavrodi's characters burst forth from the pages, come alive and open up their innermost beings... revelations that will shock and mesmerize the reader, who--while filled with fear and anxiety--will be unable to put LUCIFER'S SON down until the last terrifying conclusion.

AUTHOR
Sergey MavrodiSergei Panteleevich Mavrodi was born on August 11, 1955 in Moscow, Russia.
In the year 1993 he was the only one who openly opposed the privatization that started in those times, saying that it was a real robbery of the country, and that he would spare all efforts to prevent it. In the same year, on the basis of the cooperative he created the joint-stock company MMM. The plan was simple:to accumulate people's money, buy up all state property on the money auctions held at that moment, and distribute among the shareholders. Less than six months MMM encompassed already about 15 million members, and Mavrodi himself controlled more than one third of the country's budget.

At that point, he was arrested on a completely absurd charge of tax evasion(the criminal case later fell to pieces), and all cash budget of the company wasseized and disappeared to an undisclosed location. In particular, only from thehead office of MMM authorities took out 17 truckloads of money.

Straight from prison Mavrodi registered as a candidate for Deputy in the State Duma of the Russian Federation at the special election in one of the districts. In this regard he was released. He easily won election with a huge margin and became Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. After a year an almost-unanimous decision of deputies he was stripped of his deputy powers (the first case in the history of Russia).

In 2003 Mavrodi was arrested again and placed in the federal special prison#99/1, the gloomiest and obscure institution of modern Russia. Sharing his cell with professional killers, maniacs, terrorists and criminal lords, he went on 15 hunger strikes (one of them was dry and lasted for 8 days) and countless
punishment cells (he was even released from the disciplinary cell).

In the year 2007 Mavrodi was released.

The novel "Lucifer's Son" was written by Sergei Mavrodi while in the federal special prison #99/1.

REVIEW
This wasn't quite what I was thinking it was going to be..  I like the short stories on what is thrown out for temptation. "The Devil is real, and mankind is inherently evil-no matter the pose - therefore easily lured to the dark side."  The book was quite long, 500 pages long.  I felt a lot was rather drug out and there were places that I totally got lost.  I enjoyed the short conversations between Lucifer and his son. You have the son, who asks questions regarding religion and you have the Devil, who basically makes fun of it and the evil humans that love the dark side.  I think there's a piece of all of us that likes the lure of the evil and darkness of it.
I had a slight problem with women being to blame for all of  life's problems.  This goes back to Eve and the Garden of Evil. The book has a taste all of it's own. Not your usual kind of darkness. I wish the characters were described a little more, but I guess being short stories, there's not much room for a lot of descriptions.
You have to let go of some of your normal (normal for you the reader) ways of thinking.  You have to read this with an open mind.  If you're into demons, evil, and the darkness it brings, then you may like this book.  It's not your conventional evil, darkness book.  I felt it goes a lot further into the mind of the reader.  The author did a wonderful job of creating the scenes for the reader.  You could visualize some of the things that were going on. Do we as humans make deals with the Devil for our own personal gain?  Do you believe there is an angel that was cast out of heaven and is known as Lucifer?  The author leaves you wanting more after some of the stories and after others, you were at a loss as to what was going on. If perhaps the book was shortened and the characters expanded, it would have been more appealing.  Way too long. When you open this book you may find that hidden evil and darkness that has been lurking inside of you!  You'd be surprised. Lucifer is watching, so beware.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my unbiased review. No other compensation took place.

I would give this book 4  STARS.
