REVIEW
Facing the fact that you are wrong is hard to do. This wonderful children's book is Volume Ten in the Captain No Beard series. Ms. Roman tells how a good friend lets you know when you're wrong. This is a hard lesson to learn especially for young ones. The book is geared for pre-school to elementary school age children. It's even a fun read for the not so young readers, especially if you like pirate stories. The illustrations done by Bonnie Lemaire are colorful, exciting and attention getting. This story is about Captain No Beard and his insistence on sailing in bad weather to go to Dew Rite Volcano. His crew tries to tell him he's headed in the wrong direction and the storm is bad but he doesn't listen. They try to tell him about the cloud formations, raising the flag when the wind is blowing so hard and about how cooking is near impossible during bad storms. Will Captain No Beard finally realize and face the fact that he is wrong? This is a valuable lesson for children to learn. You're not always right and there's nothing wrong with admitting it. In the back of the book is a listing of the different kinds of clouds and their characteristics. Very interesting. Children will love this adventure with Captain No Beard and his crew. As always, Ms. Roman presents a learning book that is fun, exciting, and keeps the little ones' attention. The cover is very colorful and can be easily wiped off with a damp cloth. A nice addition to your child's bookshelf and their collection of Captain No Beard stories.
