Marta wants to be alone. Her baby's father dumped her. The last thing she needs is a romantic entanglement with a gorgeous guy who can offer no promises.

REVIEW
How many of us have been hurt while in love?  This is a good story of opening oneself up after being hurt.  Since the death of his wife, Leif has withdrawn and become a total loner.  He puts himself into his work to avoid the pain.  himself in work instead.  A town history mural is to be painted in Heartlandia by Marta.  After being with a man for five years, they broke up because he wasn't interested in being a daddy.  She plans to concentrate on her baby and her art.  Nothing to do with any guy.
I felt so bad for Leif that he has all this pain being such a good man.  I imagine there are a lot of readers out there that feel that pain of loosing someone they love through death. Leif is paying for the town's mural and the artist is ggoing to live in his home.  He didn't have any idea she was going to be stunningly beautiful and he found himself attracted to her.Once he finds out about her pregnancy, the protective side of him comes out.
She was attracted to Leif but just couldn't fall in love and go through what she went through before.  It just hurts too much.  She finally saw past the loner and saw the loving, caring man inside that hurt exterior.   Leif gradually realizes he like Marta's company in his home.  Does Leif want Marta like he wanted his wife?  Could Leif let go of the hurt and the loneliness?  Could the two of them let go of the past and find a future together?  The author gave the reader a lot of emotions to fit in and go through with the characters.  A lot of it feels so real since so many of us have gone through or are going through what Leif and Marta have.
The ending was sort of a surprise and I really enjoyed it.  It was about the pirate trunks and how they effected the town.  Everyone deals with things in a different way.

I was given a complimentary copy of Falling-for the Mom-To-Be from the author, Lynne Marshall for my view of the book.

I would give this book 5 STARS.
