THERE'S A GHOST ON THE LOOSE--
AND A FOX IN THE HENHOUSE.
There's a ghost on the loose—and a fox in the henhouse.
Four years ago, the Eternal Slumber Funeral Home put Chicken Teater in
the ground. Now undertaker Emma Lee Raines is digging him back up. The
whole scene is bad for business, especially with her granny running for
mayor and a big festival setting up in town. But ever since Emma Lee
started seeing ghosts, Chicken's been pestering her to figure out who
killed him.
With her handsome boyfriend, Sheriff Jack Henry Ross, busy getting new
forensics on the old corpse, Emma Lee has time to look into her first
suspect. Chicken's widow may be a former Miss Kentucky, but the love of
his life was another beauty queen: Lady Cluckington, his prize-winning
hen. Was Mrs. Teater the jealous type? Chicken seems to think so.
Something's definitely rotten in Sleepy Hollow—and Emma Lee just prays
it's not her luck. (copyright NightOwl Reviews)

REVIEW
The second book in The Ghostly Southern Mysteries Series is as good and fun as the first.
It all started when a plastic Santa that was on the roof of Artie's deli and meat fell off and knocked Emma out. When she came to at the hospital, she began seeing ghosts. Chicken Teater's body had been at her very own funeral home, Eternal Slumber, but here he was at the hospital. That couldn't be, she had seen him buried. Whenever anyone in town saw her talking to a ghost, they just thought her as crazy Emma. Emma realizes she isn't imagining things and is caught up in the murder of Ruthie. Emma with Ruthie's ghost, goes right ahead and pokes into the investigation since more people are getting attacked.
Who were the suspects? Quite a few including Chicken's widow, Marla Maria.
Emma hopes to get this case solved since The Kentucky Cave Festival is ready to begin. Emma has a thing for Jack Henry. She looks into those eyes and her stomach has butterflies flittering. They are both taken with each other. The author definitely wrote two characters that belong together. Ms. Kappes wrote the characters to be fun, a little strange and very colorful. She keeps the mystery rolling and rolling from page to page. I would suggest reading the first book so that you can get twice the fun and get to know the characters better.
I received a complimentary copy of A GHOSTLY GRAVE from the author, Tonya Kappes and Night Owl Reviews for my view of the book.
I would give this book 5 STARS.
