When Stephanie moves to the notoriously cheap Perry Bar neighborhood of Birmingham, she's just happy to find an affordable room for rent that's large enough not to deserve her previous room's nickname, "the cell." The eccentric — albeit slightly overly-friendly — landlord seems nice and welcoming enough, the ceilings are high, and all of the other tenants are also girls. Things aren't great, but they're stable. Or at least that's what she tells herself when she impulsively hands over enough money to cover the first month's rent and decides to give it a go.  But soon after she becomes uneasy about her rash decision. She hears things in the night. Feels them. Things...or people...who aren't there in the light. Who couldn't be there, because after-all, her door is locked every night, and the key is still in place in the morning. Concern soon turns to terror when the voices she hears and presence she feels each night become hostile. It's clear that something very bad has happened in this house. And something even worse is happening now. Stephanie has to find a way out, before whatever's going on in the house finds her first.   Adam Nevill's No One Gets Out Alive will chill you straight through to the core — a cold, merciless, fear-inducing nightmare to the last page. A word of caution, don't read this one in the dark.

REVIEW
Stephanie is the main character of the book.  She goes through a lot in this story.  She has no steady work,  very little cash and struggles to make ends meet.  She is renting a room in what appears to be the house from hell on Edgware Road.   The reader couldn't help but grow to love her character.  She became a strong woman but some decisions she made, I just didn't understand.
She seemed to always be the female victim.  I wanted her to stand strong and on her own two feet and quit being the victim.  I was very upset with the charcaters.  The author described and wrote Fergal as a totally disgusting, awful person.  The landlord from hell was Knacker.  As you read on, his voice isn't so irritating.  It kind of grew on you, not in a good way, though. You just wanted to kick him to the curb and give him what he deserved.  He bullies, intimidates and puts fear in the reader as he pretends to care about you.  The plot  has two parts.  First half is Stephanie's stay in Edgware Road and she goes through horrors, paranormal and physical while she lives in the house from hell.  The second part takes you into her life after she escapes and learns to handle what had happened to her. NO ONE GETS OUT ALIVE is Adam Nevill's first novel that I have read by  him.  It's filled with darkness, evil, suspense, paranormal, cruelty.  It has everything for a good horror novel. Waiting for another book by this author.

I received a complimentary copy of NO ONE GETS OUT ALIVE from the author Adam Nevill and Night Owl Reviews for my view of the book.

I would give this book 5 STARS.
