REVIEWGreen Dragon Clip Art
The author, starts the story with Rita Bonita, a horse. The poor thing was different when she was growing up and was teased for being so. Her ears, color and size were laughed at and she was told that she wasn't a real horse.  Slowly coming up the road in a wagon one day with a sign saying "T-Bones Traveling Circus."  The wagon was full of misfit animals.  They were just different.  They were just not able to do what others like them could do.  A lion with no roar, a fairy with one wing and a dragon that had no fire.  That was just a few of the different animals in "T-Bone's Traveling Circus".  Rita Bonita discovered that not all creatures are the same and being different is what makes them special.  Rita's special too.  She stood tall and waled proud in the circus with all the other animals who were special.   The author wrote some valuable lessons for all to learn from little ones to adults.  Appearance and being different can be so difficult when you are young or not so young. It's especially hard when you are laughed at or make fun of. It's hurtful.  Everyone has their own special talents or skills.  Everyone is different, it doesn't have to be in their appearance.  But being different is what makes us special and unique. Some are better at some things and others have their special talents.  The author, Ms. Virant wrote a lovely, learning, rhyming book that is short enough to keep the little one's attention span.  She included such colorful and cute images to go along with the story.   The colorful and charming cover catches the eye.  She also leaves a space for the child to put her or his name in the book.  That makes the book theirs. That is so important. She taught some very valuable lessons that should be read over and over again.  This book is a keeper for a child's shelf.

I was given a complimentary copy of T-BONE'S TRAVELING CIRCUS from the author, Ms. Janice Virant and Out Skirts Press for my view of the book.

I would give this book a solid 5 HORSES.
