To Cassie Parker, Colorado is the farthest point on earth from the dusty, troubled life she left behind in Texas. Here she has a birthright—her grandfather’s land not far from town—and a chance at a promising new start. And Jake Reece certainly is promising.

There’s never been a day in Jake’s life that he didn’t work harder than anyone else, and he’s got a thousand head of cattle and the ranch of his wildest dreams to prove it. Yet winter has a way of making even the most independent of men long for more. That must be why he’s so drawn to the strange, secretive beauty who’s taken up on the Parker land.

But when Cassie runs afoul of the local cattleman’s association—with Jake at the helm—what started as sparks ignites into a full blaze. And things in Angel’s End are about to really heat up…

 AUTHOR
Cindy Holby has always been a writer. Since the beginning of her memories, her biggest desire has been to put words to paper. Now she is living her dream, although it’s not as glamorous as everyone thinks. The house still needs to be cleaned and the laundry done but she does manage to get some writing time in while she ignores the dust bunnies.

REVIEW

This is the second book in the author's Angel's End western series.  You may want to read thee first book since it starts out with Cade and Leah.  It's not necessary but would be nice.

Cassie Parker was left some land at Angel's End from her grandfather when he passed.  The bad thing is, she has many painful secrets and dreams that have been destroyed.  She hopes to start a new life in Angel's End with her friends, her paralyzed mother and, guess what?  a flock of sheep.  Many feel that the sheep pollute the water and this is where she is trying to settle.  Right in the middle of cattle territory.  The cattlemen want Cassie and her people along with the sheep to get out.  But Cassie isn't one to be  pushed around.  She has a strong dislike for the rancher Jake Reese.  He can't seem to help himself from wanting to help Casie.  He found her sauciness and her Independence draws him to her.  He also feels she has a wounded soul.  Will he be able to convince Cassie to open her heart and life to him?
The author wrote a deep, sweet romance.  Jake is one of those knights in shining armor.  Cassie is the sleeping beauty.  The trouble is she doesn't believe in romance or love anymore.  She is just trying to survive and keep her mother and friends under shelter. She is starting to heal from the tragedies. Will Jake be the right man to bring her back to life, to love?  The pages kept turning with all the cat and mouse fights between them and the sparks that flew.  You can't finish this book without wanting more.  It's hard to wait to get the next book.
As a western, this book will warm your heart and actually make you believe that the power of love will come forth.

I was given a  complimentary copy of COLORADO HEART from the author, Cindy Holby and Manic Readers for my view of the book.  No other compensation took place.

I would give this book 4 STARS.
