REVIEW
Setting: 1900 Boston as seen through Clarissa's eyes. Historical romances are among my favorites. BANISHED LOVE wasn't your normal Historical Romance. It wasn't the usual repetitive writing that you sometimes find in Historical Romances. The author wrote a well written, descriptive romance that will keep you wondering what will happen next. You have to turn those pages to keep the story going. There is never a dull moment. The plot flows smoothly.
One character, Clarissa Sullivan is rather klutzy. On a day when it's raining, Clarissa leaves the school where she teaches to immigrant girls. She was on her way to her uncle's store. Her uncle loved to see her so she rushes in, in spite of the Closed sign. She runs straight into a ladder that Gabriel McLeod is at the top. He falls to the ground with staining quite a few injuries. During the meeting of Gabriel, Clarissa finds she must go according to her own instincts instead of what society and her family think. She follows her heart. I believe the author wrote a lesson into this book which is rather different from other Historical Romances. I would suggest you get a copy of this book and go on a journey of watching Clarissa find her way and a possible romance.
