DEAD BEHIND THE EYES
by
Brock Car
SUMMARY
(from Amazon)
Newly promoted CEO Max
Riley boards the corporate jet in Denver. When it lands in Omaha he is
dead - murdered by an unseen assailant. As the people closest to Max are
investigated we learn relationships are rarely what they seem. While
police compile the hard evidence, private investigator Claudia Sullivan
seeks answers she will find only by examining the deeper psychological
mysteries that are more difficult to solve. Like why Max - a good man
and loving father - put his children through such mental torture. Or,
what turns bad behavior for some into chronic obsessions for others? The
stories of infidelity, sexual addiction, devoted spouses, and the
privilege that comes with power are both touching and tragic. As much a
whydunit as a whodunit, Dead Behind the Eyes weaves a patchwork of
compelling stories and relatable characters that explore why some of us
are strengthened by adversity and others fold.

REVIEW
This is Brock Car's debut novel. A book that will hold your attention during the entire book. Sometimes you will find your heart skipping a beat, it is that intense. The author has taken the plot and woven a web with great characters. You will find yourself turning the pages quickly. The author gives the reader all of it, murder, suspense, greed, mystery, revenge, romance and much more. The author did a wonderful job of taking the characters and their stories and blend them so there is no confusion as to what is going on. Claudia Sullivan, private investigator is the main character. She is very intelligent and savvy. She has an unique quality, is that she can put people at ease so that they trust her. This to me is a necessity for a private investigator.
The author puts in a wonderful message that what seems so perfect may not be as perfect as it seems. This is a book that, I as the reader, couldn't let go. I hope that there will be more books to follow. I want more. To me that is the sign of a good book. It leaves you wanting another book to follow.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good book with mystery, suspense, romance and a lot more. A very good, well written book with a wonderful message enclosed in the pages.
I was given a complimentary copy of DEAD BEHIND THE EYES from the author, Brock Car for my view of the book. No other compensation took place.
I would give this book 4 EYES.
