RUBY HOOD
Ruby Hood Series
Book One
by
Stephanie Greenhalgh

In the small town of Woodsville, self-assured Ruby Hood becomes tangled in more than traditional teenage angst. With the Homecoming Dance looming, everything at Woodsville High appears normal, but things are not as they seem. Ruby meets a cute boy with a lopsided grin, Dylan Hunter. She flirts shamelessly with the football star, Kent Wolf, and finds herself in a barrage of harsh verbal altercations with his stunning yet wicked sister, Kayla Wolf. Thankfully, she finds solace in her friend, Lilly Fair. Through a series of odd and painful events, Ruby discovers her true calling and the responsibilities that come with her new power and position. Despite her heartache and sorrow, will Ruby find the inner strength not only to protect herself, but also to keep the Wood safe at all cost?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

MY REVIEW:

When I first started reading this book, I thought, oh no, but then I got to thinking about the creative title and as I read the creativeness soon became stronger and stronger.
This wasn't what I would exactly call a fairy tale. It was more a fantasy with a dark edge to it. Of course, it had some very much fairy tale characters in it. As I re ad I met the Wolf and Hunter families. Then there was Grams and the very mysterious Ruby Hood. Ruby is coming of age, but Ruby's coming of age is not the ordinary. Seventeen Ruby Wood becomes the Guardian of the Wood, after her Grams dies. However, her powers have a cost, and that cost has to do with her friends. I have to say that this was one book that I absolutely loved. The twists and turns give way to more and more surprises. This was a real page turner and was extremely hard to put down. I found the phrase "over the river and thru the wood" to see her grandmother. Amazing! Then enters Kent Wolf and his sister who were classmates for years of Ruby Wood. Then the story picks up a little faster when Dylan and his father Jared enter. I don't want to say anymore and give away anything more, but this is a Once Upon A Time with a wicked twist. There was quite a bit of wickedness in this book. The wicked step mother and the two wicked daughters. Everyone has to pick up this book and read and re-read it. It is wickedly good.
I was given a complimentary copy of THE TWISTEDLY TRUE TALE OF RUBY HOOD by Stephanie Greenhalgh for my view of the book. No other compensation took place.
I would give this book 5 SOLID HEARTS
