ABOUT THE BOOK
(from Goodreads)
Emily Peterson finally has finally had the chance to enroll in university after working for years to support her younger brother and sister, who were left in her care after their mother died six years earlier. There she meets the infuriating but devastatingly attractive Nicholas Cavanaugh, lecturer and successful, but ruthless, businessman.

Unfortunately, they get off on the wrong foot from day one, and although there’s a definite attraction between them there are just too many obstacles between them. Or are there? Despite their professional relationship Emily and Nicholas find it hard to stay apart, even when everything in their lives seems destined to drive a wedge between them.

Can Nicholas and Emily overcome their differences and find true love, or will they miss out on their one chance for true love?
REVIEW
(This story is written mostly from Emily's point of view.)
Enters Emily, just graduated from high school.  She has to put her life aside to take care of her brother and sister after her mother passed away.  I felt like this was a lot to put on a young girl, although it happens all the time.  It takes 6 years for her to finally start some college courses part time.
She and one of her lecturers begin a relationship, I wasn't sure that this was going to lead into anything but heartache but we shall see.  Students and teachers romantically involved.  This does make for an interesting story.  Their relationship doesn't always go smoothly.  They have their problems like all couples do. I didn't like the way they talked. It was so stiff, not like everyday people would talk.  I felt that Nicholas was stiff and so proper.  He was in love with a beautiful girl. You'd think he'd loosen up a bit. I had a hard time relating to the characters. The only emotion I felt coming frr
om the couple was ANGER. They didn't trust each other and couldn't find the good in each other. That made me feel like they may have not been so in love as thought. When did they have time for love when all they did was argue, which led them to be mad at each other?  To me, that's not a very good relationship. There didn't seem to be any soft, tender sex.  It wasn't love, it was lust. I felt for both of them.  Jumping into a relationship, immediately thinking they are in love and  Wham, Bam, Thank you Maam sex. Nothing good could ever come from this.
Will Beth learn from this? Will she try to change Nicholas?  Can the relationship become true? I don't think so but you will have to get a copy and see what you think.  Are there Lessons to be learned from their so called love?
I believe I would have liked the book more if there had been more emotion from the characters. If the characters would become a little less stiff and lighten up a bit. All in all it was a good read and I would suggest it to anyone who wants to find out about LESSONS IN LOVE.
I would like to read more from the author.
