OVERVIEW
(from Goodreads)
In the Amish town of Sugarcreek, love comes in many forms. But will it come at all for Miriam?
Miriam Zehr has worked at the Sugarcreek Inn longer than she cares to admit. The restaurant is a favorite of town residents as well as the many tourists who come to taste the famous Amish fare. Though she always tries to have a smile for every customer, deep down Miriam knows something's missing: a family of her own.
Miriam has never felt particularly beautiful, especially because she's always been a bit heavier than other girls her age. When Junior, the man she's pined for all her life, suddenly seeks her out, she's thrilled to be noticed . . . until she realizes he's only asking her to help get the attention of Mary Kathryn Hershberger, her pretty friend.
If Miriam helps Junior court Mary Kathryn, she'll get to spend a lot of time with him, but she might lose him in the process. Are these few stolen moments worth a lifetime of sacrifice? Is Miriam right to even hope for the life she dreams of?

REVIEW
Author Shelley Shepard Gray has a new series Return to Sugarcreek. HOPEFUL is Book One of that series. the main character is Miriam, who works for Sugarcreek Inn.  Miriam is looking for more than her job, she just doesn't know what that is. As most Amish parents, they want their children to marry and produce bopplies.  She is constantly pushed by her family but she has only eyes for one man and that is Junior. Junior has eyes on Mary Kate.  Miriam wishes he would eye her and Mary Kate wishes he wouldn't eye her. What a dilemma.  Ms. Gray introduced characters that you could feel for and relate to. Miriam has a big heart and will help anyone that needs it, but she has such feelings of not being quite good enough.Once I opened the book, there was no turning back. I was hooked. The author shows us through the characters that through hope and faith  there are second chances. The book was full of romance with a little suspense added in.  I would recommend this book to anyone.  It is a good, clean read that is well written so that the reader becomes captivated.  If you can grab a copy of HOPEFUL by Shelley Shephard Gray and meet Miriam, Mary Kate , Junior and all the others from Sugarcreek.   A lovely heartwarming read full of hope, faith and second chances.

Glossy Hearts 1 Clip ArtI would give this book 5 HEARTS.

I was given a complimentary copy of HOPEFUL by Shelley Shepard Gray from Litfuse Publicity Group for my honest opinion.  No other compensation took place.
