Eli Wyse arranged a marriage between his sister, Lindie and a widower, Josiah Plank. I know that often marriages were arranged, but to enter a marriage without love. The marriage could be doomed before it ever begins. Josiah promised to give Lindi his name but not his heart. This to me was a marriage of convenience, no love, no feelings for each other. That is so sad. A wedding day should be one off thee happiest days of a person's life. Josiah needed somebody to take care of his eight year old daughter and do the household chores which often included outdoor chores as well.Linde felt as though she had to go through with this marriage,since she feels the terrible secret she has carried has tainted her. Linde is bearing a huge load. She is married to a man she doesn't know nor love and she is expected to learn to sign with Hannah, since she is deaf. To top things off, she is with boppli The author, Ms. Reid wrote a story of the impossible relationship becoming a loving relationship between husband and wife. How did this happen? Adversity sometimes can bring people together and yet sometimes it can tear them apart.Ms. Reid took 3 people who didn't know each other and through the trials and over time, love brought them together. On top of the arranged marriage, Hannah's problems, the boppli on the way, Josiah becomes very ill. Through believing and talking with the Lord, Linde and Josiah become close. There;s a lesson in this lovely book, keeping secrets will tear you apart. You must be out front with your fears and doubts to the one you are growing to love. The author never gives you a moment to want to quit reading. Once you read that first page, figure you're going to finish it. There's only one problem, the author leaves you wanting more. To me that is the sign of a talented author and a good book. The story does continue in the rest of the series books. Even if Amish books are not your favorite, why not try this one. It will warm your heart. Ms. Reid shows you that Love and Faith can bring you together.

I would give this book 5 BOWS.
