Lily Donaldson leaves a small Texas town in 1904. She goes to work for the Marshall family, very wealthy, living in Austin .The home was called the BUTTERFLY PALACE. Mr. Marshall collects butterflies and Lily is grossed out by them. This BUTTERFLY PALACE will take some getting used to. There's a killer on the loose. The attacker is called the Servant Girl Killer. Needless to say this wasn't the best time for Lily to begin working in the domestic service. Lily is a confident, strong woman, but is she a match f or the Servant Girl Killer?
Will Lily catch the attacker's attention when she keeps a young woman from being attacked?

The book was quite a mystery, lots of twists and turns. The reader has no idea what is coming on the next page. The story is mostly about Lilly and Drew and their romance, even though it was not pure at first. Regret faces them when they run into each other while Drew was staying at the BUTTERFLY PALACE. He was using the name Drew Hawkes. When Lily's father died, Drew hit the road, deserting Lily. Lilly finds out that he working with the Secret Service on a Counterfeiting Ring.
Belle, who is Lilly's mistress, to me was not a likable person. She is the family's niece. Belle's aunt and uncle have a suitor in mind for Belle, but she has her eyes on Drew. Belle has led a sheltered life but she's well educated and has courage. Usually you find the rich little girls that their daddy's have spoiled rotten care only for themselves and change isn't in them, but will Belle be different.?
Belle discovers that there is a plot to kill her uncle.Lily and Belle have their differences but join to help Drew find the would be killers. Will Drew find them in time? Or will Mr. Marshall die? The author wrote a story full of mystery and Ms. Coble made the characters very interesting adding a lot of suspense with a touch of Romance.
I would give this book 4 BUTTERFLIES.
