REVIEW
The author uses a little humor and adds a small pinch of suspense in dealing with greed versus sharing. Tobi is a smart turtle and when there was a famine in the land of the animals, and the animals didn't understand why the villagers didn't have the same problem Tobi finds a solution. The problem is he  keeps everything for himself and won't share with his friends.Tobi will soon find out that his end is coming. Mama, from the Kanji village. which is in the northern part of Nigeria. The village people especially the children admired Mama.  They would  ask her while sitting under the stars, for her to tell of Tobi's adventures.
The story has so many good qualities, it's funny, exciting and is fast paced.  This book is the first in Mr. Eke's children's series of Mama's Tales of Kanji.  The essence of the book comes from childhood African folklore stories he heard.
Mr. Eke wrote an amazing story that not only is fun to read but has lessons to be learned, sharing, not lying and to be kind to others. The story teaches that there are consequences for all our actions. The author's next book is THE GOLDEN BIRD. This would be a wonderful addition to your child's bookshelf.  A book that can be read over and over and it enforces the lessons.

I would give this book 4 TURTLES.

I was given a complimentary copy of THE TURTLE'S SHELL from the author, Vincent Eke for my personal opinion.  No other compensation was received.
