OVERVIEW
(from Goodreads)
From New York Times bestselling
author Tracy Anne Warren comes the second novel in an enchanting new
trilogy about three princesses brought together by friendship and fate.
This is Princess Mercedes’s story…
While journeying home from Scotland, Princess Mercedes of Alden's coach is set upon and her personal guard is killed. Barely escaping with her life, Mercedes seeks help at a nearby inn. But since she has no money and looks little better than a beggar, her claim that she is a princess is dismissed by the townsfolk as a far-fetched tale. Utterly forsaken, Mercedes wonders what is to become of her.
After years of soldiering, dispossessed Laird Daniel MacKinnon is finally coming home. While at an inn, he is confronted by a bedraggled young woman claiming to be of royal blood. Daniel doesn't believe her wild tale, but when she asks for his protection, he agrees to serve as her bodyguard; in turn she promises to reward him handsomely once they reach London.
But Mercedes is still being pursued by ruthless hunters whose motives remain unclear. The danger increases, as does the desire that she and Daniel feel for each other, until the two of them must face the greatest danger of all: falling in love.

REVIEW
This book is the second in the Princess Brides Series. Ms. Warren has once again done us justice in writing another wonderful book. What more could a reader want? You get a princess and her shining knight, A highlander needing a good woman to love and a storyline that keeps your interest from page one.
Mercedes' body guard, her maid and a cousin are all dead. She was on her way home from Scotland. They were attacked. She hides in the woods and now she is the only survivor. She finds her way to an inn, but the patrons and the locals don't believe she is a princess. They feel very little for her.
Then a handsome man, Daniel comes to her aide. Mercedes asks Daniel if he would be her bodyguard. Daniel can sense that she is afraid of something. He feels she is making up the part of claiming to be a princess. He does feel that someone or something has indeed scared her. He decides to go to London with her. On the journey back he feels there is a real danger headed right for them. Another danger he feels is falling in love and giving his heart to her. For being a spoiled princess she is a strong woman, willing to stand and fight for Daniel. The book had some wonderful characters, some sensual romance and some suspense. This book has it all. A little of everything that makes it so inviting and keeps your attention. You don't want to let go. You don't want it to end. So Grab a copy and enter the world of HER HIGHNESS and the HIGHLANDER. You won't be disappointed.
