 SLAVE CHRONICLES                                                       4 STARS
by Kirk Yancey

OVERVIEW:
Slavery will always live as we try to bury the rising truth...Life has evolved in many ways from shackled and chains to just chains. This book delivers a variety of emotions in poetry that ignites a nation with words of history attached to the coat tails of life's movements. Poetry is an intensely personal glimpse into the history of a writer's life, past to present and nowhere is this truer than in Slave Chronicles written by Kirk Yancey. Within these bounded pages he shares with us messages from many through his interpretation of readings, research and records of slavery. Slave trading and sacrifices from black people has always been a struggle, while others may never want to open this book because the nature of truth and facts pointed out. Warning: This book connects with many emotions you may not want to release when reading this book.

REVIEW-
Most people, and I was one of them, thought that reading this book wasn't important.  WRONG.
It is an amazingly wonderful book.  The author, Mr. Yancey wrote poems about his ancestors and their every day struggles. Black History is something that he has a lot of knowledge about and I'm sure he has done a lot of research on it.  The book is one that everyone should read.  We have so much negativity in this world about race. People are people regardless of their race.  The poems that   Mr. Yancey wrote are quite good. The author, through his poetry helps us get just a glimpse of the struggles and sacrifices that the black people have always had to make.  Slavery is over with but it is forever in the background in some people's minds.  Some of the poems will bring a tear and some will break your heart. Your heart will go through  many emotions as you read the poetry. The author leads you  through the poems, allowing you to get a mental picture of what the poem is saying.  I would recommend this book to everyone.  You will not be disappointed. Anyone who reads the book will remember it, for a long time. The poems are something that should be treasured and have a special place on your shelf. One thing that was written about in the SLAVE CHRONICLES was.....
"FREEDOM CAN NEVER BE TAKEN FOR GRANTED".  Think about it.  Mr. Yancey
spoke such truth just ion those words.  Don't miss out on a chance to read some powerful poetry and while you're reading, you will get quite a lesson.

I would give this book  4 STARS.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, SLAVE CHRONICLES from the author, Kirk Yancey for this unbiased review.

AUTHOR-
It was a great challenge to write this book. Kirk went through many trials and sacrifices that brought him back to basics of square one, which for him was poetry. Wrongly accused for many things, freedom can never be taken for granted as written about in Slave Chronicles.
